As the night continues, I focus on maintaining a positive attitude. There’s no room for negativity or complaining. Whether it’s about work, traffic, or anything else that may have happened earlier in the day, I don’t let it seep into the night. I make it a point to keep the conversation light, fun, and engaging. My wife deserves to take her mind off the day’s stresses, not be dragged into another round of complaining.
The food & drink are delicious, the conversation is effortless, and we’re both enjoying ourselves. As the night wears on, I ensure I’m not the one talking the entire time. A gentleman listens as much as he speaks. I ask her about her day, dreams, and frustrations. It’s about fostering an environment where she feels heard, valued, and connected.
When the meal is over, pick up the check, of course. I’ve always believed that being a gentleman means caring for the things that matter, especially financially. But more importantly, it’s about showing that I appreciate our time together. Even in the smallest of ways, I want her to feel like she’s my queen, someone worthy of respect and admiration.
