12 Car {Rules} All Men Should Follow!

October 2, 2024
Today is a little old-school Alpha M. etiquette tutorial about autos. Specifically, we’re talking about the do’s and don’ts when you own a car and also when you’re a passenger. I feel like every single one of you should follow these.

Car etiquette for everyone!

  1. Don’t drive distracted. Do not text and drive! It’s how quickly something could happen, and if you’re distracted even for a second by looking at your phone, bang!
  2. Never drink and drive, even if you think you’re fine after consuming. With all the different rideshare apps, there’s no excuse. If you’re going out and you know there’s going to be alcohol, don’t even take your car. If you get there and then drink cocktails, get a ride home. You can leave your car.
  3. Don’t drive a car you can’t afford. Many people think they need a super sexy, badass car, but having a super affordable car is really what it’s about. Just keep it clean.
  4. Keep the outside clean. It doesn’t matter what ride you’re rolling; you must keep it clean.
  5. Don’t park like an asshole. Don’t take up multiple spots when you park. Also, do not park in a handicap spot.
  6. Keep the inside clean. Do not have clutter in your car. Also, make sure it’s not dirty and dusty. It should not have a disgusting film all over it. Your car needs to smell good, too. But don’t spray cologne in your car or use sprays like Febreze. I like to use Drift, which makes my car smell amazing. Use code ALPHAM to get 55% off your first month with Drift. Also, check out the new Drift Wall Plug-In for your home.
  7. Don’t drive like an ass. Tailgating, speeding, cutting off people, and yelling at others are all bad ideas. Don’t be stupid! Make sure you use your turn signals and follow the road rules. It’s all pretty simple with zipper merging, four-way stops, having an ambulance or emergency vehicle pass, funeral processions, and more. It’s about respect.
  8. Use Bluetooth respect. If you get a phone call while you’re in your car and it goes through the speaker system via Bluetooth, I have respect for the color and let them know they’re on speaker. This also helps other people in the car because they could end up saying things they shouldn’t. It’s all about courtesy.
  9. Don’t be a disrespectful passenger. (1) Don’t be a backseat driver, even though you may think you drive better. (2) Don’t eat in someone else’s car. It’s disrespectful unless you ask. Another time might be when you’re on a road trip. Make sure you’re super careful and don’t spill anything. And don’t ever toss trash out and litter!
  10. Pay attention! Don’t you stop lights as a time to check your phone. These lights are on timers, and you can mess up the system by not paying attention and taking your turn.
  11. Use rideshare instead of driving high. There’s no excuse these days for driving impaired because we have a ride at our fingertips. Paying for a ride is much cheaper than a DUI.
  12. Be a gentleman. Open the door for your visitor or guest. Wait for them to get into the car before shutting the door.
